My husband recently got a new office and he asked if I could help him decorate it. The fact it’s a complete blank canvas with no furniture got me really excited to start brainstorming.

I decided to design a space that was calming and not dominated with brown tones, like most corporate offices. My husband loves modern and coastal decor, so it made sense to combine the two for this space. In order to do this room on a budget, I’m planning on hunting the aisles of HomeGoods every week to find lookalike pieces. Some items on the mood board are already budget friendly, or I was able to find dupes online, so I’ve linked them below for you. Ikea, H&M, Zara Home, HomeGoods and Target are all great stores to score budget finds.

Whether or not we end up going with this exact design is TBD, but it was fun designing and coming up with a gender neutral office design that may inspire some creativity in others.

I’d love to know how you feel about adding “coastal” pieces to your home decor? I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a Florida girl, but coastal pieces make rooms feel lighter to me and more like home. Do you have any coastal vibes in your house?
