If you’re in your 30’s then your bathroom has probably started looking more like a storage unit for skincare than a bathroom; at least mine has. From anti-aging serums to hydrating masks and everything in-between, the quest for more youthful looking skin empties our bank accounts while simultaneously stuffing our medicine cabinets. While I can’t help you with the first thing, I can help with the ladder.

I found these acrylic shelves on Amazon and they have been a game changer for me and my ever growing collection of products. They’re meant to be drilled into the wall, but I wanted a more temporary solution since we rent. Thank goodness for Command Strips.

How-to:

Place two heavy-duty Command Strips on the back of each shelf. Place the strips where the holes to drill into the wall would be. I used the leveler tool on my iPhone to straighten the shelves before pressing them and the strips against the wall.

Keep in mind the height of the products you will be placing on the shelves. Select the tallest product and place it on a shelf to give you an idea of how much space you’ll want between each shelf and how tall the highest shelf will look once the products are on it. I didn’t want my tallest product to be higher than my towel hooks (see photo below). A good rule of thumb is to center the middle shelf so the products on it will be at eye level.

I didn’t use a measuring tape. Once I placed the first shelf, I aligned the next one below it with a product bottle on it for spacing reference, then lowered it into place and pressed it against the wall. I then did the same for the third shelf. Every time, I had my iPhone on the shelf with the leveler tool on that I mentioned above.

Now I can actually see what products I have and our bathroom drawers no longer look like skincare graveyards. I love how it turned out. These shelves honestly make me feel like I have my own little Sephora-like skincare area and every day I get to “shop” my own products. Mission accomplished.
