Some people may know me from the 14 years I spent as a radio host, but I have passions that span far beyond the airwaves. That’s why I created this site. It's a positive place for us to be ourselves, share ideas and support one another as we navigate through the realities of life.

I've experienced my fair share of hardships, but I've managed to make it through them all and am on a mission to live a more fulfilling life. A life full of never ending personal growth. I hope by sharing my journey I’ll inspire you to do the same, because I believe you are capable of achieving your wildest dreams and that you deserve all the happiness.

Whether it’s home decor videos, mental health talk, DIYs or dairy free recipes that taste great—this is the platform where you'll find them all. My intention is to spark creativity and encourage you to try new things. So, let’s stop trying to be “perfect” and just start being our truest selves, together.

I’m happy you’re here.

Welcome to my happy place.

I'm Melanie

Wanna know more about me?

I’ve lived in St.Petersburg, Florida, for most of my life. However, a morning show host position took me to the Washington, D.C.-area, where I lived for almost two years. Prior to that, I was on a syndicated-morning show that happened to be based in D.C., so I got to travel there often. Even though I’m happy to be living back home in the Sunshine State, D.C. will always hold a special place in my heart.

I’ve lived on my own and supported myself since the week I turned 17-years-old. I didn’t take the traditional path of going straight to college when I graduated high school, because I wasn’t afforded that luxury. Instead, after making a career for myself, I went back to school in my late 20’s. I got my degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida and attended the school of Journalism and Media Studies in St.Petersburg.

My husband and I eloped in Maui in 2019, after we’d been dating for nine years, two of which were long distance. What we didn’t know is that we’d actually known each other our whole lives! Two years into dating, our moms met and freaked out, because they were in a mom’s group together when we were little, but had lost touch. We have since found photos of Brian’s mom at my mom’s baby shower for me and even a photo of Brian with my dad, who passed away when I was in middle school. My husband likes to say, “I stalked him our whole lives,” but I see it the other way around.

We have an Italian greyhound named Bishop who frequents my Insta story. He’s 11-years-old and my husband got him shortly after we met. He is the biggest-little cuddle bug ever, despite being 90% stick legs. He wants love 24-7 and he’s not afraid to let you know. He’s skittish at first, but once you start giving him treats and rubbing his head he’ll never leave your side. Also, if I can’t find him it’s because he’s snuggled himself under a blanket somewhere.

My passion for decorating came at a really young age. I was the child in our family who was constantly rearranging the furniture, begging to change the paint color on my walls and convincing my mom that if we rehung all our curtains a few inches higher, our ceilings would appear taller. My parents always encouraged my creativity, especially because I was one of five children and rearranging furniture was a free hobby.

I’m Catholic and my faith is very important to me. I’ve lived through seasons of my life where without my faith in God, I truly don’t know where I’d be. I believe in the power of prayer and while I may like cursing along to rap songs and don’t attend church regularly (sorry mom), I try to be a good Christian and act with kindness to everyone I meet. My favorite scripture is Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

I’ve always dreamt of having my own design show on HGTV and being one of those correspondents you see on Good Morning America...that, and being signed to a recording contract. Oh yeah, and writing a book. Why limit yourself? haha. The thing I’ve learned about passions and dreams is that even if they seem over-the-top and started manifesting when we were little, the desire to accomplish them never goes away. That’s one of the reasons I started my YouTube channel and this blog. To stop waiting around for a call to magically come in from HGTV and instead, to start sharing all of my passions with you now.

Vegan pizza with ranch dressing is my weakness. I truthfully don’t even care what toppings. As long as there is crust, vegan cheese and ranch- your girl is in heaven. A pizza with no ranch is like macaroni without the cheese. That’s why we always keep an extra bottle of ranch on deck in our house.
